Gooey, Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies🍪 (Vegan- High Protein)

Here is a situation: you ate dinner a few hours ago, and you start craving something sweet. You may be self-distancing, but staying healthy is still important and you're sick of stuffing your face with chocolate-flavoured protein bars. Let's face it, real food is always more satisfying. You want to give in to your cravings, but you don't want to put your health on the back burner. What if I were to tell you that you could make healthy cookies, with plenty of chocolate to get your brain to increase serotonin levels and release dopamine in the brain without the guilt of processed snack foods. Additionally, you'll feel really accomplished and it will have only taken you 20 minutes to do so. Plus, you can Remix your favourite flavour combinations, because if you know me, you know I don't like sticking to recipes so just use this recipe as your guide to your new favourite healthy chocolate chip cookies! What You'll Need:

  • 2 cups oats, rolled oats are preferred

  • 1 scoop of neutral-flavoured protein powder (I used whey)

  • 2.5 bananas

  • 1/2 cup (ish) chocolate chips

  • Optional: I put 2 pieces of brookside's chocolate-covered pomegranate seeds, .

How To:

  1. Set your oven to 180C/350F.

  2. While Oven is preheating, place bananas in a medium-sized bowl and mash with a fork until a smooth paste has formed

  3. Stir in oats, protein powder, and chocolate chips until evenly combined

  4. Scoop out balls of "dough" that you will form into evenly sized cookies

  5. Place cookies on greased baking sheet (Pro Tip: you can line the baking sheet with tin foil/parchment paper to improve the lifespan of your equipment)

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned, but still soft

  7. Enjoy Warm, or stow away for future indulgences 😅
